I guess it’s time to make it official and announce that I will be putting my racing on hold for a year. I made the decision before the start of the 2018 Cyclocross season. It was obvious that I am unable to race to my full potential with the lingering injuries sustained after being hit by a truck while on a training ride back in 2016.
Last year we had to take a break from hosting this amazing camp but it's back for 2019 and we can't wait!
The camp will begin on Wednesday, June 26th with group introductions and a team building activity once everyone is settled into the team house.
And here we are at the start of another Cyclocross season. I can't help but reflect on the last season or really the lack there of due to injury and realize how fortunate I am to be here able to race at all. I figure I'm already far ahead of where I was at this time last year because I wasn't hit by a truck yesterday!
I couldn’t believe it, I was hit by a truck. I always thought that happened to other people. I was so careful, so pro-active, always assuming cars didn’t see me, always looking for the car that might hit me…until there I lie on the pavement...
What a day yesterday! Early morning flight out of Vegas let me pretty tired but it's amazing…
